Professional Profile
Jonathan Cusson has represented school boards throughout the State at both the trial and appellate levels. He also represents physicians and dentists in malpractice and licensing matters.
Mr. Cusson received his law degree from the University of Maryland, where he served as an Associate Editor of the Business Lawyer. Before joining Anderson, Coe & King, he clerked for the Honorable Arrie W. Davis of the Maryland Court of Special Appeals. Mr. Cusson is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and its Young Lawyers Division. He also belongs to the local chapter of the Inns of Court.

Representative Matters
¥ Represented a family practitioner who was alleged to have negligently failed
to diagnose a coronary artery dissection in a 33 year-old woman when she died
in the afternoon following an emergent morning office visit. The jury
determined that the physician did not breach the standard of care.
¥ Represented an internist who was alleged to have negligently failed to
monitor a patient's skin breakdown status in a long term care facility.
Obtained dismissal in favor of the physician for the Plaintiff's failure to
comply with the mandatory Health Claims Arbitration procedures.
¥ Represented a hospital whose staff was alleged to have been negligent in the
birth of a brain damaged infant following utilization of a vacuum instrumented
delivery. Obtained dismissal in favor of the hospital.
¥ Represented a dentist alleged to have negligently performed a root canal such
that extraction was required. Obtained a judgment stating that the dentist did
not breach the standard of care following a bench trial.
¥ Represented the Baltimore County Board of Education in a case where one of
its bus drivers was alleged to have negligently caused injury to several
students when the vehicle collided with a parked car as he attempted to avoid
several children running alongside the bus. The jury determined that the driver
was not negligent.
¥ Represented the Baltimore County Board of Education in a case where one of
its teachers was alleged to have negligently supervised a playground such that
a student was permitted to jump from a piece of playground equipment and break
his foot. The jury determined that the Board was not negligent.
¥ Represented a 21 year-old girl who was alleged to have negligently driven her
car, striking and killing a 15 year-old boy. Obtained summary judgment on
behalf of the driver.
