E. Philip Franke, III Wins Defense Verdict in Orthopedic Malpractice Case
Partner E. Philip Franke, III obtained a defense verdict for two orthopedic surgeons in a case tried before a jury in the Circuit Court for Carroll County (Kenneth Wars v. (Unnamed Orthopedic Surgeons)). The patient sustained a ruptured axillary artery and injury to the posterior cord of the brachial plexus nerves during shoulder replacement surgery. Plaintiff claimed the injuries were negligently inflicted due to poor surgical technique. The defense presented evidence that the injuries were recognized, accepted complications of the surgery. Edwin Keating Obtains Defense Verdict in Risner v. M., DDS
