James A. Rothschild and Edwin L. Keating, III obtained a dismissal with prejudice on behalf of Emerson Electric Company in Brobeck v. ISE.
This case was a product liability claim against Emerson Electric Company alleging that a hot water dispenser manufactured by Emerson Electric Company had a product defect that caused it to leak, resulting in property damage to the Plaintiff’s office space. After conducting discovery, during which time Defendant obtained sanctions against Plaintiff, Plaintiff dismissed the case with prejudice against Emerson Electric Company.

Matthew Angotti & Michael Carlson Receive Summary Judgment in Michael Quirk v. The Home Depot U.S.A., Inc.
Partners Matthew T. Angotti and Michael J. Carlson received summary judgment in the matter of Michael Quirk v. The Home Depot U.S.A., Inc. A product liability lawsuit, the case centered on allegations by Mr. Quirk that he suffered a personal injury when a ladder he purchased from The Home Depot broke under his weight, causing him to fall to the ground. Mr. Quirk claimed that The Home Depot knew or had reason to know that the ladder was defective. Judge J. Frederick Motz of the United States District Court for Maryland granted The Home Depot summary judgment.
